Igniting doesn’t win out of turn, but he finds himself in a very winnable contest at Ballarat this afternoon. He has raced well without winning in his past two starts, including the Inglis Dash, and this is the weakest race that he has contested in some time. He may never have a better chance to return to winning form.

Ballarat – Race 6 4:00PM AEST

No. 1 Doroza – Bet Now: $3.70

It is no surprise that there has been an early move in betting for Doroza. He has recorded two wins on the trot and he has improved each time that he has been seen at the races this campaign. The gelding still has the scope to improve and far more upside than the rest of this field. He can make it three wins on the trot.

Ballarat – Race 7 4:30PM AEST

No. 10 Librate – Bet Now: $1.60

Librate is deserving of her status as a short-priced favourite. On exposed form she has a clear class edge over the rest of this field and she finished a more than credible fifth in the Laelia Stakes. She maps to get a lovely run in transit with Damien Oliver in the saddle and she should prove too strong for the rest of this field.

Ballarat – Race 8 5:00PM AEST

No. 2 Boots Tarrington – Bet Now: $5.00

Boots Tarrington has recorded two wins from his five race starts and there is no reason that he can’t make a winning return to the races. He finished his most recent campaign with a string of impressive efforts and he still has plenty of upside to improve. Barrier five is ideal and he maps to get a lovely run in transit.
