The wide barrier draw means that he will need some luck in running, but Sam Spade is a horse with more ability than his current record suggests.
He should now be at peak fitness third-up and he has an excellent chance to return to winning form.
Gosford – Race 6 4:20PM AEST
No. 1 Malkovich – Bet Now: $3.60
I am surprised that Malkovich isn’t a clear favourite in the Gosford Guineas.
He has recorded three wins from his four race starts and his last start victory at Canterbury was particularly impressive.
Barrier three is perfect and he still has plenty of upside to improve.
Gosford – Race 7 4:55PM AEST
No. 8 Betcha Flying – Bet Now: $SP.00
This is an open edition of the Belle Of The Turf Stakes and there are a host of winning chances.
Betcha Flying doesn’t win out of turn and she will need some luck in running, but I remain confident that she is the best horse in this field.
$7.50 is over the odds in such an open race.
Gosford – Race 8 5:35PM AEST
No. 4 Liberty Sun – Bet Now: $2.80
Liberty Sun has an excellent chance to return to winning form in the Malcolm Cusick Stakes.
It has been a while between wins, but he has been racing well in tougher company than this.
Josh Parr will be able to roll forward from barrier five and he will give his rivals something to chase.
