No. 5 Cheeky Peaky – Bet Now: $3.40

Cheeky Peaky has raced well in all three of his race starts to date and he finds himself in another winnable contest at Ballarat this afternoon.

He has shown a nice turn-of-foot during his racing career to date and I don’t think that the wide barrier draw will be an issue.

The Strategic Maneuver should prove too classy for this field and is great value at his current quote.

Ballarat – Race 6 4:00PM AEST

No. 5 Royal Marine – Bet Now: $16.00

Royal Marine has been transferred to the care of Ray Besanko after starting his career with Chris Waller.

He has shown some talent during his racing career to date and if he does bring anything like his best form he should have an edge over the rest of this field.

Barrier six is ideal and Beau Mertens is a positive.

Ballarat – Race 7 4:30PM  AEST

BEST BET: No. 9 Wild Spree – Bet Now: $SP.00

Wild Spree is a lightly-raced filly that still has plenty of upside.

There was plenty of merit in her win at Pakenham three starts ago and she has since raced in stronger company than this.

This is a very weak race and she is well-placed to return to winning form.

Ballarat – Race 8 5:00PM AEST

No. 2 Yulong Status – Bet Now: $2.10

Yulong Status could hardly have been more impressive when he bolted in to win by three and a half lengths at Ballarat last start and a repeat of that effort would make him very tough to beat.

He will need some luck in running at the right time from the inside barrier draw, but he does have ability and jockey Michael Poy is riding with plenty of confidence.
