Canterbury – Race 5 3:10PM AEST
No. 10 Suave – Bet Now: $3.70
Lightly raced four year old gelding Suave returns from a spell in the fifth event of the day at Canterbury.
He has managed two impressive wins from his three career race starts and has had two nice trials leading into this first up assignment.
Tim Clark will steer from barrier five and he looks the one to beat.
Sandown – Race 4 2:10PM AEST
EACH WAY: No. 3 Antagoniser – Bet Now: $9.00
Antagoniser is a far better horse than his last two efforts last prep suggest.
He was beaten just half a length by the very smart Rubisaki second up last prep before running third over the 1600m at Sandown one start later.
He has drawn well first up here and the double figure odds look overs to my eye.
Sandown – Race 5 2:45PM AEST
BEST BET: No. 1 Shepard – Bet Now: $3.90
The Peter Moody trained Shepard has managed four wins and two minor placings from nine career race starts which is a very good record for a staying type on the rise.
The lightly raced four year old gelding is racing well this prep and should be plenty fit for this assignment.
He has been well backed in early betting suggesting he will run well.
Sandown – Race 8 4:30PM AEST
EACH WAY: No. 11 Zizzis – Bet Now: $10.00
It has been a long time in between wins for the four year old Sizzling mare Zizzis but she looks really well placed in this event at Sandown.
She gets in well at the weights with the claim of Tahlia Hope who can give her a cushy run in transit from barrier five.
If she can find a nice spot, I don’t think the 1000m is a problem and she is worth a small play at the each way odds in my opinion.
