Auron showed plenty of ability when he made his racing debut in August and he has trialed nicely ahead of his return to the races.
On exposed form he does look to have a genuine edge over the rest of this field and he maps to get a lovely run in transit with Ryan Maloney in the saddle.
Doomben – Race 5 4:35PM AEST
No. 1 Incheon Express – Bet Now: $2.70
Incheon Express is a lightly-raced gelding with plenty of speed.
He won his first start at Ballarat by five lengths and he showed plenty of speed in his only race start to date in Queensland.
Michael Cahill will take him straight to the front in the early stages of this contest and he will give his rivals something to catch.
Doomben – Race 6 5:10PM AEST
No. 1 Smart Meteor – Bet Now: $3.50
Smart Meteor is a horse that is better than his record suggests and this is his chance to return to winning form.
He has form around some talented gallopers and he was not disgraced in The Gateway last start.
Barrier three is ideal and he will get every possible chance in the run.
Doomben – Race 8 6:30PM AEST
No. 5 Heritage Sash – Bet Now: $5.00
Heritage Sash returned to a semblance of his best form at Doomben last start and a repeat of that effort would make him very tough to beat.
He has raced well without winning at Doomben in the past and he should now be at peak fitness.
The I Am Invincible gelding is a better chance than his current odds suggest.
