Horse Racing Tips & Best Bets – Wednesday 15th July, 2020

Wednesday will see plenty of quality thoroughbred racing across the country with our focus being on the meeting at Cranbourne in Victoria. Take a look at our horse racing tips and best bets for Wednesday 15th July, 2020.

Cranbourne – Race 2 1:00PM AEST

No. 9 Seafood Source – Bet Now: $7.00

Seafood Source will take good improvement into her second campaign task at Cranbourne this afternoon and can return to winning form.

The three-year-old daughter of Fighting Sun was sent to the paddock after breaking her maiden at Pakenham in January and mustered an eye-catching turn of foot to finish a close-up second over 1000m when resuming at Ballarat.

That performance was particularly noteworthy because she ran on against the leader-biased pattern of the day, and it was against the older horses.

Cranbourne – Race 4 2:10PM AEST

No. 4 Boomstock – Bet Now: $2.40

Boomstock was an impressive last-start winner at Cranbourne and looks well placed to make it two in a row today.

The Tavistock gelding has been a consistent galloper for the Price & Kent Jr yard throughout his career, but his near three-length triumph over the mile here last start was his best performance to date.

Jamie Kah has options from the rails draw and I can’t find a reason why the horse won’t be in the finish again.

Cranbourne – Race 6 3:20PM AEST

No. 12 Harlem Blues – Bet Now: $4.80

Harlem Blues was a very impressive last-start winner over the older horses and is up to winning again at Cranbourne this afternoon.

The Peter & Paul Snowden-trained colt ran home respectably to finish fourth when resuming at Pakenham, but went straight to the lead second-up at Ballarat and powered away in the straight.

There looks to be a bit of speed in this contest but if he doesn’t have to do too much work too early, I think that Harlem Blues will be winning again.

Cranbourne – Race 8 4:30PM AEST

No. 5 Magazine – Bet Now: $4.00

Magazine has been a strong and consistent performer recently and strikes another winnable race at Cranbourne this afternoon.

The Savabeel filly ran home well to finish a close-up second at Stawell three starts back, running third behind the talented Walking Flying at Sale before breaking back into the winner’s stall at Wangaratta last time out.

She relishes racing on tracks with the sting out of the ground and Johnny Allen has options from an inside draw.
