Anamoe

Anamoe is clearly an extremely classy animal and he comes into this Group 1 race on the back of a huge performance in the Golden Slipper Stakes at Rosehill.

The son of Street Boss came from last on the turn in the Slipper to storm home, comfortably beating all bar one home.

He followed a placing in the Blue Diamond at Caulfield with an arrogant win in the Todman and the step up in distance looks ideal.

There is not a horse coming out of the Slipper that can beat him in this and he looks a deserving favourite.

Anything better than even money looks overs to me.

James McDonald takes over from Rachel King and he will steer from barrier five.

Captivant

The Peter and Paul Snowden trained Captivant is a talented colt having his fifth career race start.

The team targeted the Golden Slipper after he won the Victory Vein Plate in October last year over 1000m and the horse finished fifth when realising that dream last start.

He will find it tough to turn the tables on Anamoe in my opinion but he is a real chance at filling a placing.

Lightsaber

The Peter Moody trained Lightsaber comes into this Group 1 event off the back of three impressive wins in a row.

His win in the Group 2 Sires Produce at Flemington was full of merit where he beat Saif by 1.5 lengths.

That horse has since come out and won at Group 3 level at Rosehill over 1400m on the weekend which franks his form even more.

He is a progressive type of colt who is proven at the distance and he will be plenty fit for this assignment.

There will need to be further improvement to beat the favourite but Luke Nolen will have options from barrier three.

Tiger Of Malay

Tiger Of Malay resumed in the Silver Slipper Stakes to finish within two lengths of Home Affairs before being narrowly denied by Shaquero in the Pago Pago at Rosehill.

The Freedman team by passed the Golden Slipper in favour of this race and he is another that represents good value at his current quote.

Hugh Bowman steers from barrier nine.

Daily Bugle

Daily Bugle has earned a shot at this Group 1 after taking out the Mornington Sires’ by over a length.

He finished 11th of 14 in the Group 2 Sires Produce the start before in the race won by Lightsaber and he would need to dramatically improve to figure in a race of this quality.

Luke Currie steers from barrier four.

Hilal

Hilal comes through the Pago Pago Stakes where he finished within two lengths of Shaquero.

The son of Fastnet Rock was last on the turn that day and he showed an impressive turn of foot to get as close as he did late in the race.

He is another horse that is worth considering for multiples.

Lease

Lease is yet to win from three career race starts and comes into this Group 1 race off the back of a fifth in a Warwick Farm maiden.

Making up the numbers.

Four Moves Ahead

Four Moves Ahead had her chance in the Golden Slipper at Rosehill last start but failed to finish off the race, finishing just over four lengths from the winner Stay Inside.

She returned from a let up with a nice win in the Sweet Embrace at this track and is clearly the second pick in betting.

Tim Clark has drawn perfectly in barrier two and with improvement she will be figuring in the finish.

Queen Of Wizardry

Queen Of Wizardry was beaten just over three lengths in the Magic Millions Classic back in January before tackling the Golden Slipper fresh.

She was never a winning threat in the race, finishing 13th, over 10 lengths from the winner.

This looks tough.

Chill

Chill made her racing debut in the Group Reisling Stakes back in March where she finished with three lengths of the winner Glistening.

She was last seen finishing second in a maiden at Warwck Farm.

This looks beyond her.
