HAWKESBURY
THURSDAY 10 MAY
TRACK: GOOD 4 (4.85) RAIL: TRUE
BEST BETS:
RACE 1 NO.1 AFRICAN ACADEMY
Third up and stepping to the mile are the ingredients I hope will allow AFRICAN ACADEMY to break his maiden status. His two runs this time have been solid including a last start third at Randwick behind Stryke Rock. The form from the race hasn’t been shown to be flash but I dont think he meets any stars this afternoon and he has always looked like the mile would be right up his alley.
RACE 6 NO.4 EPIRUS BOW
Only a small field to face the starter and I am going chips in with the Matthew Smith trained gelding EPIRUS BOW who hasn’t been to the races for over a year. He trialled impressively last October but returned to the paddock with a hiccup but returned this time around and has caught the eye with two strong trials. He has natural speed and should be able to roll forward and settle in the first couple.
