BEST BETS:

Race 3             No.1    ALL TOO SOON

Race 7             No.1    SANCTIONED

Race 1

3 – 11 – 9 – 10

I agree Wagner looks hard to beat off two nice trials but with him being red odds I will pass. The Bernardini breed can be hard to catch at times especially on wet ground so at an odds-on quote I’d find it hard to dive in. I think the two trials of CHABREET have been well above average and from an ideal gate he should position up nice and handy. Ringerdingding is another that has caught the yes from the trial and the blinkers have been added to sharpen him right up. Vega One has race experience and was beaten less than a length by a smart one in Zousain.

Race 2

1 – 4 – 7 – 13

TERMINOLOGY returns after a 7 ½ week freshen up since being beaten by Sunlight on the Gold Coast and looked in good order with a good barrier trial a fortnight ago. She should roll forward and either leads or sits in the first couple and is hard to get past. Cristobal is a filly that seems far stronger this time in and has trialled nicely and looks to map well. Rosina Kojonup has only had one official trial and looked a pretty handy one winning the trial. Thanks Heavens found the line nicely in her only hit out while Starry who now gets a start as an emergency must be kept safe off the back of two smart trials one last year and the other a fortnight ago. The big tip around town is Miss Fabulass who is by world champ Frankel out of multiple group one winning mare Samantha Miss. She looks smart and will need to be from a wide gate here against some fair types.

Race 3

1 – 6 – 4 – 2

ALL TOO SOON is a quality filly and is destined for some better races this autumn and today I am hoping is just a nice easy stepping stone. She comes off a three month break and was strong to the line winning over 1400m at Kembla against the older mares. She has had three weeks to get over that run and be ready for today. Condor is in good form and must be respected while Bullet Shot looks as though he is looking for this journey and with two runs back should be fitter enough. Huangshan and Baby Back Shak are the other knockout players.

Race 4

3 – 2 – 6 – 8

Keen to play here with the quinella from Canterbury where RENEWAL was able to beat Our Mantra by a length and a quarter but meets him two kilos worse at the weights. Renewal is on the improve that still races in patches but all things being equal he will be hard to beat today. Besides the weight turnaround I am sure he will appreciate the Rosehill track more than Canterbury and the sting out of the track shouldn’t pose any troubles.

Race 5

11 – 7 – 1 – 12

GAYTIME GIRL has turned in three outstanding runs this campaign and is due for a change of luck. She was unlucky not to run down the leader last time out an on-pace bias track. The drop back to 1400m on a rain affected surface looks ideal. Hard to find a reason why Stella Victoria won’t figure the form she is in while Waimea Bay is a big improver. Don’t worry about her latest win just being at Taree it was a good effort and she is looking for the extra distance. Aonair is first up so keen to see her in the parade ring but she is a handy girl on her day so a forward showing won’t surprise.

Race 6

4 – 5 – 6 – 14

If you win on reputation KAONIC would be unbeatable but I thought his first up run was well below standard and worries me a bit. Yes he was big in condition but he didn’t show any of the class we know he has. The lack of speed here is a worry but even with all my concerns he is the one to beat, Merovee is no slouch and cont9inues to improve and with one run under his belt he will have come on. He is a big threat to his stablemate. Watch the betting and see which way the money goes on the Waller pair. Onslaught gets the on-pace favours and will be in front at some stage in the run home.

Race 7

1 – 2 – 5 – 3

SANCTIONED resumes here having been gelded and although the barrier trial wasn’t something to get me excited I am banking on his class that saw him run second in the Stan Fox splitting Gold Standard and Addictive Nature and seconds in the Gloaming behind Ace High. Yes I know he will be better over further but 1300m first up on a slow surface might just be ok. Reach For Heaven is cherry ripe now third up and will get the right run from gate one. Mon Pere is the big improver with blinkers back on while Thaad will be finding the line hard third up from a break.

Race 8

2 – 12 – 7 – 5

Tricky race to finish the afternoon with many chances but I’ve settled on MULTITUDE who will settle on-pace, is as tough as nails and doesn’t mind the sting out of the track. He will give you a big sight. Mazaz is an improver who finally got his first win on Australian soil last start in a tough effort and is capable of going on with the job now. Peribsen looks a one-paced tough bugger who will keep on coming no matter the distance so with the blinkers on he must be given serious thought.
