WARWICK FARM

SATURDAY 10 FEBRUARY

TRACK:                        SOFT 5   (5.11)                                    RAIL:    TRUE

BEST BETS:

Race 1             No.1     SATIN SLIPPER

Race 2             No.4     XEBEC

Race 6             No.3     SIEGE OF QUEBEC

Race 8             No.4     SHOW A STAR

Race 1

1 – 4 – 8 – 3

SATIN SLIPPER was good winning the Gimcrack on debut and I have liked her both trials this time in. She has a tricky gate to overcome but if she can slide across and settle third or fourth I think she can get us off to a flyer. Oxford Tycoon looks an above average youngster and has trialled very well one of them against Satin Slipper. Osorno was good first up and although he may be looking for further look out late if the speed is solid.

Race 2

4 – 7 – 1 – 3

I like the Saturday form and following four runs back XEBEC finally gets to 2400m which I think he has ben looking for. Chatelard come through the same race and should roll forward and tag the speed which should be genuine with Great Glen and Multitude engaged. Gamblestown is the query in regards as to whether he can run 2400m but if he can look out.

Race 3

3 – 7 – 5 – 6

It looks a benefit race for the multiple group one winner SHE WILL REIGN at the set weights and going off her barrier trial behind Super Too she should stalk the speed and go bang on straightening. Limbo Soul is a smart filly and looks the obvious second pick.

Race 4

16 – 3 – 12 – 15

EL MO turned in a very effort behind The Lion in the TAB Highway a fortnight ago and I think this looks a shade easier and with a light weight and what looks a fair tempo on paper he should get his chance to round them up. Volpe drops back from the mile which I think suits and if he can find a bum to tag onto he will be charging hard late. The favourite Try A Lil Harder is low flying and must be kept safe but she will need a touch of luck early from her wide barrier.

Race 5

1 – 14 – 6 – 12

I was very taken with the win of SANCTIMONIOUS at Moonee Valley last week when he looked awkward around the tight track but once balanced his engine was evident and put them to bed. Ballistica is on debut but has caught the eye with two very smart barrier trials and his advantage is he is debuting on his home track. Sunreel looks a smart filly and to my eye looks the big value here and is sure to appreciate the step up to 1200m and a genuine tempo. Pembroke Castle did a good job on debut giving the indication he is a player today.

Race 6

3 – 4 – 6 – 1

Kementari has all the tongues wagging following his impressive barrier trial here at Warwick Farm nine days ago when cruising to the line under a throttle hold. I am worried about him for sure but I am sticking solid with SIEGE OF QUEBEC who won first up like a tradesman not a quality sprinter but don’t get away from the fact he still won and he has three from four and its only Menari who has beaten him. I am tipping Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott will have the dash back in his legs today and he will take some beating.

Race 7

2 – 4 – 1 – 3

Bjorn Baker has two major players here in Bonny O’Reilly and my top selection EGYPTIAN SYMBOL who comes here off a four week freshen up after running a terrific third behind Viddora in the $1 million Magic Millions sprint. Bonny O’Reilly is three from four first up and four from six at the 1200m so just going off those stats it says she is a major player. She hasn’t been knocked around in two recent barrier trials. Danish Twist is a classy mare and may be giving away too much start around here but she will be motoring hard late. Prompt Response is fresh up off a three month break and is capable of dashing well.

Race 8

4 – 1 – 2 – 5

Only five runners to face the starter now but with a 7 ½ kilo pull in the weights I’ve settle on SHOW A STAR in front of Supply And Demand. Show A Star will bounce and lead and if he can pinch a break on straightening they will have their work cut out trying to run him down. Supply And Demand is quality and he has travelled the country far and wide but gee he is racing in terrific form. Testashadow is the other winning hope coming here off a smart barrier trial win and from gate one he will enjoy the stalking roll.

Race 9

2 – 9 – 7 – 1

I like DAL CIELO as a horse but he has had his issues off the track and in his head as he seems to do a few things wrong like not jumping from the gates. If he produces his best I think he is capable of blowing them away. Fickle Folly is rock hard fit and will roll forward and with a light weight she will give a kick and a big sight. Artlee is first up after 20 months and a new stable with Kris Lees but her trials have been outstanding so look out for a big showing fresh.
