WARWICK FARM

WEDNESDAY 1 AUGUST

TRACK:            GOOD 4 (4.74)

BEST BETS:

Race 6             No.8                SEAGLASS

Race 1

2 – 4 – 10 – 8

This race has been flipped on his head with a few important scratching’s but I am still left with my top selection of CHARGE who I think has trialled in outstanding fashion leading into this run. He should bounce and be handy and hopefully hard to beat. His stablemate Altair owned in similar interests and gets Bowman who also trialled Charge looks the big danger. It looks like I have gone against the stable’s number one pick so the betting late may be the best guide. Malos resumes here and looked sharper in the trial and will show speed here and give a big sight.

Race 2

1 – 4 – 9 – 7

It looks a competitive race for the fillies and I am swaying towards the Anthony Cummings girl MIZZY who has shown good ability in her two career runs and looked very good and more relaxed in a barrier trial win at Newcastle. Olive Leaves trialled nicely ahead of her debut showing she could settle and quicken will stand her in good stead. Wonderbabe gets a gun run from the barrier draw and going off her trial should stalk the leading couple and be ready to pounce.

Race 3

7 – 6 – 2 – 3

These races are never easy as they seem to take turns in winning. Five of the nine runners clashed here a fortnight ago and that seems the best form line heading into today. Cormac got into an awkward spot last start and was solid and with a lack of speed here compared to last time he looks the leading player. Allcash ran into a traffic jam coming to the turn last start yet found the line strongly and is sure to be charging late. Follow Suit won the race so hard to knock him while Segenhoe could fly solo up front and be the big improver.

Race 4

4 – 1 – 7 – 8

With Star Of The Seas withdrawn this morning it leaves SPRING CHARLIE as the short-priced favourite and very hard to beat. He is two career runs for two wins and looks set to make it three for three. He attacks the line hard and if given his chance to wind up he should round this lot up.

Race 5

9 – 2 – 3 – 8

Sweet Scandal is looking for three on the trot and looks hard to toss but she won’t get things as soft as last start when able to control the race as there are some quicker gallopers here. That said she should appreciate the better tempo coming back in trip. I am going with LADY I AM who needs to step up from a provincial class 2 but with a strong tempo here I think she round them up. She is fourth up this time in and has improved at each run suggesting a peak run here. Devolving, See The Show, Unwise and the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott mare Aeecee Tong De as the other winning chances.

Race 6

8 – 9 – 2 – 6

After scratching’s SEAGLASS looks very hard to beat here coming off a solid first up run at Randwick behind Our Malambo. She takes on the older horses here having just turned 4yo today herself but she looks well placed. Oria who finished just in front of her last start came out and won last Saturday giving the form some depth. Impasse finally got his second win last start at Kembla albeit he is only a battler but looks a chance. Catmosphere will likely lead and given them something to chase.

Race 7

4 – 12 – 14 – 5

INTUERI was terrific here a fortnight ago when narrowly beaten by Curragh and with Gauguin and Trafalgar both being well beaten then winning at their next start gives the race some worth. He will settle handy and be there when the whips are cracking. Hammond Lane and Valentino Rossa both come through the same race and both had little things go against them in the run so they can figure here without surprising.
