Trainer disqualified on harassment charges

Queensland trainer Tim Hurley has been disqualified for six months after being found guilty of harassment.

Stewards heard the charges last month but did not publish a report until this weekend.

An inquiry heard evidence from Hurley and other licensed participants, after which he faced two charges.

The first involved allegations Hurley on an unspecified date between May and June 2019 at the Deagon complex engaged in unseemly behaviour by making an inappropriate action and inappropriate comment towards a licensed person.

The second charge involved allegations he sent inappropriate text messages to a licensed person between July and August.

Hurley pleaded guilty and was disqualified for six months on each charge to be served concurrently.

The disqualification ends on August 21.
