One of the standout fillies and mares of recent seasons will make her first public appearance this week as Treasurethe Moment begins her autumn build-up.

Trainer Matt Laurie is delighted with the four-year-old, who comes off a remarkable run of elite-level performances.

Her four-race winning streak culminated in the Group 1 VRC Oaks (2500m) in November 2024, before adding the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) and Group 1 Australian Oaks (2400m) last autumn.

After holding her own in races such as the Cox Plate and Champions Mile, Laurie opted to give the mare an extended break.

She will jump out on Wednesday or Thursday to kick off her preparation.

“We are happy with her preparation so far,” Laurie said.

“She will have another trial after this one as well leading into the Futurity Stakes.”

A return in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield is the initial target, a race she shapes well for after winning the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) first-up last spring.

Treasurethe Moment is a $4 joint second favourite for the Group 1 All-Star Mile (1600m) at Flemington on March 7.

“My idea is to give her two, maybe three, runs and then putting her away before a red-hot crack at the Cox Plate,” Laurie added.
