In a race that looks to have solid speed that should ensure the field spreads out I am hoping SOOTHING gets the chance to slide in around midfield and if that happens she will be able to unleash a good turn of speed. She was brilliant first up and then the heavy track took away her brilliance yet she was still able to win. If she gets the luck from the wide draw she will be hard to hold out.

Can SMART MELODY run 1400m?

That’s the million dollar question because if she can she looks a class above them. She has been brilliant winning four from four but she has yet to race past 1100m. If Brenton Avdulla can get her to relax her burst of speed will be hard to handle by her opposition. The danger may well be her new stablemate El Dorado Dreaming who from all reports is low flying.
