Wet weather forces Edenhope transfer

The state of the Edenhope track has forced an upcoming meeting to be transferred to Hamilton.

Sunday’s meeting has been moved because of significant rainfall in the Western Districts with the Edenhope track receiving double its long term average of rain in April and May.

The transfer has resulted in a number of distance changes, including the meeting’s feature, the $30,000 Apsley Cup, which has been shortened from 1850m to 1600m.

The Hamilton track is currently in the slow range with little rain forecast before Sunday’s meeting.

Swan Hill will hold also its Cup meeting on Sunday, the final day of the annual three-day June meeting.
