Craig Williams will reunite with Signature Scent in the Group 3 Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday after a two-week break in Ukraine, where he visited his wife’s family and delivered humanitarian aid.
Williams partnered the Ciaron Maher-trained filly to victory at Caulfield on July 12, with assistant trainer Jack Turnbull confident she’s primed for another strong showing.
“She’s a lovely filly… she’s physically very good and all her home work suggests she should be ultra competitive,” Turnbull said.
The Maher stable also saddles Icarian Dream, returning after missing the Blue Diamond Stakes on veterinary advice, and new addition Custom, a Godolphin filly who impressed winning a Kensington maiden.
Turnbull says both have trialled well in preparation and are ready to handle the Melbourne way of going, giving the stable a strong hand in the three-year-old fillies feature.
