Williams withdraws latest RAD Board appeal

Craig Williams has withdrawn his appeal against a careless riding suspension, his second from Melbourne Cup week.

Williams lodged an appeal on Monday with the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board against the decision of Racing Victoria stewards and the severity of an eight-meeting ban from an incident at Flemington last Thursday.

Last Wednesday, Williams had an 11-meeting suspension handed out for careless riding on Melbourne Cup day, reduced to eight meetings on appeal.

With his first suspension having already begun and having made the decision on Monday afternoon not to fight his second ban, Williams will now return to race riding at the Sandown meeting on November 22.
