Race 5             No.2                PIERATA

Race 9             No.2                TREKKING

Race 1

1 – 2 – 10 – 4

EQUAL BALANCE has a big weight but he has carried weight previously and only needs to repeat his latest effort and he will be hard to beat. Rhyming Puppet is shooting for four on the trot and from a nice gate and the spot he should find makes him a player. Sei Stella looks the leader and if she gets a nice time up front she will be hard to get past. Lifesaver is the knockout if they overdo it front as he will be charging late.

Race 2

1 – 3 – 4 – 2

SANTOS is giving the weight away but he looks the class animal. Two-year-old form isn’t three-year-old form but he has trialled well and from gate one should stalk his main dangers here. Neutrality should appreciate the firm footing here and if allowed to roll across will be hard to get past. Charge has been freshened since a narrow defeat in The Rosebud and can’t be under estimated here.

Race 3

5 – 11 – 6 – 1

ANOTHER DOLLAR did a good job first up here two weeks ago when beaten just on a length and from gate one he should stalk the likely leader Goodfella and be hard to hold out. All Too Soon comes back to the mile which I think suits her and from a nice gate she should get a far better economical run than last start. Souchez was unlucky last start when slow out of the gates so if he can settle a little closer he will be strong late.

Race 4

4 – 2 – 5 – 9

With Redzel coming out it’s thrown the race wide open. With no real confidence I am tipping ENGLISH who will be giving away a start but with the expected speed she will be motoring hard late. Brave Smash will strip fitter from his first up run and will be charging powerfully at the end of 1100m. Ball Of Muscle will either lead or stalk Invincible Star and both of them will be hard to get past especially if allowed to roll at just a nice even tempo.

Race 5

2 – 12 – 4 – 8

Keen here on PIERATA who was impressive holding off Kementari first up six weeks ago and he just needs a touch of luck from the gate and he will be hard to beat. Tom Melbourne is a player as he is just so consistent but just struggles to win while his stablemate Paret is capable of taking the step to this grade and being a major player. Siege Of Quebec went awful the other but he is better than.

Race 6

6 – 7 – 1 – 5

The superstar WINX is just simply awesome and her first up win was just out of this world. She will win again and continue to carry racing on her shoulders. Egg Tart is back as I thought she was super first up in the Tramway and Le Romain looks to get a nice run tagging Religify.

Race 7

3 – 5 – 11 – 4

Tough assignment here with Oohood, Fiesta, Outback Barbie and Pretty Pink all clashing again and there is nothing between them. I thought Fiesta was a touch unlucky the other so I have put her on top. Madam Rouge is jumping in grade but did a good job when covering ground at Canterbury while Miss Fabulass can bounce back after disappointing last start especially if she can get a bit of cover and relax. I like Maid Of Heaven and don’t be surprised if she can take the step up in grade and go bang.

Race 8

8 – 15 – 5 – 18

Avilius has created a big impression winning both runs since arriving in Australia and obviously looks hard to beat but from an awkward gate I think she short odds. I Am Serious was beaten behind Avilius last start when jumping from 1400m to 1900m second up so she should have more important to come. Brimham Rocks did a super job to get as close as he did last start when settling last and from gate one expect him to be nice and handy. But my top pick is SEDANZER who did a great job first up in the group 1 Chelmsford when beaten a length and a half behind Unforgotten. If she gets any luck from the bad gate she will take some holding out.

Race 9

2 – 11 – 4 – 9

With Marsupial coming out it leaves me very keen here on TREKKING who is racing in terrific form having returned from a 19 week spell with two super runs. First up he covered ground yet kept finding the line to win then covered ground and kept fighting to be beaten just over a length by Don’t Give A Damn. If he can repeat either of those runs he can send us punters home a winner. Single Bullet has some class and gets a nice weight pull and from a nice gate so he does have claims while the Melbourne visitor Right Or Wrong has to be respected.
