Winx has pleased her jockey with a soft barrier trial at Rosehill but the career of champion sprinter Chautauqua is at a crossroads after he failed to come out of the gates.

Winx worked home nicely from the back of the field and was not put under pressure by Hugh Bowman.

Racing NSW chief steward Marc Van Gestel says Chautauqua will have to trial twice if he is to be reinstated to race.
