Josh Parr bounced back from a lean Brisbane carnival with a standout treble at Rosehill, highlighted by a gritty win aboard Elamaz in the Listed McKell Cup (2000m).

After a run of outs up north following his Gold Coast Guineas win, Parr returned to Sydney and made the most of his rides, scoring aboard Rolling Magic ($7) in the Midway Handicap, Thunderlips ($3.70) in the Schweppes Handicap, and Elamaz ($2.15 fav).

“It just slowed my momentum up… I was really happy to take a good book of rides here today,” Parr said.

First-up since September and stepping beyond 1600m for the first time, Elamaz led all the way and held off Belvedere Boys ($6.50) by a short head, with Glory Daze ($5.50) third.

“Our plan wasn’t to lead… but he did the rest,” Parr said.

Tulloch Lodge rep Neil Paine confirmed a short break now awaits Elamaz ahead of spring targets.
