As the Gold Coast summer carnival heats up, Michael Hickmott expects a sharp turnaround from Inhabit as the filly resumes her Magic Millions campaign on Saturday.

Inhabit is set to contest the QTIS 2yo Fillies (1100m) after a preparation that has not been without its interruptions.

A debut winner over 900 metres at Murray Bridge in October, the daughter of Stay Inside disappointed at Morphettville Parks when a well-backed favourite.

That performance has since been forgiven after cardiac arrhythmia was detected.

“She had a jump out against the older horses and was completely dominant,” Hickmott said.

“Her last run was basically a no race for us I’m not paying any attention to it.

“The figures that we use indicate that is she would have replicated her first start at her second and even improved slightly, she can be in the mix with these horses this time.”

Inhabit is rated an $11 chance behind the Waterhouse and Bott-trained pair By Choice and Skiki.

Todd Pannell retains the ride.

Hickmott also runs Cash, who travelled north by road after missing a flight.

“He will win a really good race at some stage,” Hickmott said.

Cash is a $6.50 equal second favourite for the Magic Millions Rising Stars 3&4yo.
