Star three-year-old fillies Tempted and Apocalyptic are unlikely to meet until the Surround Stakes, with different first-up plans in place.

Tempted, runner-up to Hong Kong star Ka Ying Rising in The Everest (1200m), will trial over 1000 metres at Randwick on Tuesday.

Apocalyptic will also appear at the session, stepping out in a 900-metre trial.

Both fillies confirmed their status among the best of their generation during the spring but are yet to clash.

Trainer Michael Freedman has Apocalyptic resuming in the Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) on February 14 before progressing to the Surround Stakes (1400m).

Tempted is set to kick off a week earlier in the Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m).

“She’s had a jump-out at Bong Bong, so we are just repeating what we did last prep. A jump-out at home, one trial and then to the races,” Gerard-Dubord said.

“She will trial over 1000 metres on Tuesday and then she’s likely to start in the Eskimo Prince.”

Gerard-Dubord said Tempted had returned stronger from the spring.

“She is about fifteen kilos heavier than at the same stage last prep, so she has grown a bit,” he said.

“I think she has come back very well.”
