FLEMINGTON
SATURDAY 15 SEPTEMBER
GOOD 4 RAIL: TRUE
BEST BETS:
RACE 1 NO.2 JAAMEH
You need to put last start at Moonee Valley out of your mind and concentrate on his run here at Flemington two runs ago when he won impressively with big margins separating the finishers. Nice staying type from a soft draw and I am confident he can bounce back.
RACE 2 NO.7 SMART MELODY
I am a big fan of the NSW trainer Kris Lees when he travels his horses. Unlike some trainers his horses hold their home town form and race well. I am convinced that this being SMART MELODY’S first time down the straight is the only thing that can stop her as I think she is a classy filly and she has the others covered.
RACE 5 NO.7 KEMONO
I liked what I saw from KEMONO at his first Aussie start when forced to chase right from the get go with Ball Of Muscle running them along. The step up here to 1200m and on the limit weight will allow this bloke to race closer and I think keep running. If he can win here at his second Aussie start there are a few options for him and even maybe the last Everest slot.
RACE 8 NO.3 NATIVE SOLIDER
If you weren’t impressed with NATIVE SOLIDER last start when dominating from the front to win running away you are hard to please. He is a strong colt on an upward spiral and I see no reason he won’t take beating again here.
RACE 9 NO.15 FURRION
I remember chatting with Darren Weir at Warrnambool back in early May and he was bullish about his 3yo FURRION who went on to win at the carnival in good fashion. He then came to town and was brave when second to Lucky For All. He resumed as a 4yo two weeks ago at Geelong and he signalled his arrival with a good win. I think this race is another stepping stone for this promising horse.
