Brisbane Cup Free Tips, Bets and Field Preview – 2021

The Group 1 Brisbane Cup has drawn an outstanding field of chasers to Albion Park on Thursday night, and we are set for a thrilling contest.

Shima Shine simply doesn’t know how to run a bad race and unsurprisingly, he has opened a firm favourite in Brisbane Cup betting, but he’ll need to be at his very best to beat home the likes of Equalizer and Wynburn Sheean; both of whom were featured in our 2021 Brisbane Cup Preview.

We’ve had a look into the form of every chaser in the 2021 Brisbane Cup field and you can find our full race analysis below.

Land Down Under

Land Down Under’s recent form has been nothing short of outstanding and he represents value at a double figure quote in Brisbane Cup betting.

The son of Fabregas has missed the placings only a handful of times in his seventeen career starts, and returned to winning form over 395m here last month and simply hasn’t looked back; taking out each of his two subsequent races in impressive fashion.

He’ll go forward from the rails draw and can fight out the finish.

Wynburn Sheean

Wynburn Sheean is one the Queensland’s best chasers and looms as a key winning chance in the Brisbane Cup.

The son of Aston Dee Bee has found form around some of the country’s best greyhounds and in some of the country’s best races this prep, and he has won five of his last six starts in impressive fashion.

He was hardly troubled in his heat here last week, interestingly from the same draw, and he will take a power of beating again.

Wise Thunder

Wise Thunder has opened at Brisbane Cup odds of $34 and would need to return a career-best performance to be competitive.

The son of Fernando Bale has been a strong and consistent performer throughout his campaign, but typically at a noticeably weaker grade, and he could get crowded early from Box 3.

Equalizer

Equalizer is the second runner featured in our 2021 Brisbane Cup Preview video this week and he too looms as a key winning chance.

Equalizer has raced consistently throughout his preparation this time, and arrived in Brisbane a fortnight ago for an easy win from Box 5 here before making light work of them again in his Brisbane Cup Heat.

He’ll slot in behind the early pace of the runners drawn to his inside and with even luck in running, he can fight out the finish again.

See Them Try

Seem The Try has opened as one of the rank outsiders in Brisbane Cup betting, and is available at odds of $61 at publish.

The son of Oaks Road has been racing well this prep, albeit at a weaker grade, and he would need everything to go right after drawing Box 5.

Music Event

Music Event is one of the more intriguing runners in the Brisbane Cup field.

A progeny of Lochinvar Marlow, Music Event has been a strong and consistent chasers since making his debut early last year and has amassed an impressive 37% win record throughout his forty-one starts.

He has interestingly only had two starts from Box 6 previously and missed placing on both occasions, but his recent record suggests that he could run a bolter.

Shima Shine

Shima Shine is one of the country’s best greyhounds and he is the runner to beat in the 2021 Brisbane Cup.

The son of Barcia Bale has won plenty of good races this prep, including the Group 2 Horsham Cup most notably.

His win percentage is an incredible 60%, made even more stunning by the fact that he has contested 62 races since debuting, and he will take a power of beating again on Thursday night.

Cooper Dooper

Cooper Dooper has opened at Brisbane Cup odds of $71 and is therefore the field’s absolute outsider.

His heat win last week was impressive, albeit a big shock, and he is unlikely to repeat that effort and result in the Group 1 feature.

Do It

Do It is the Brisbane Cup field’s first emergency and will gain a start if one of the eight confirmed starters is scratched.

He has raced well in some of Queensland’s better contests this prep and finished second behind Jungle Deuce in the Group 2 Flying Amy Classic most notably.

Slip The Cuffs

Slip The Cuffs is the Brisbane Cup field’s second emergency and is unlikely to gain a start in the feature race.
