Agarwood’s performance at trackwork this week will decide if she lines up in Saturday’s $300,000 Furious Stakes at Randwick.

The Wootton Bassett filly was among 20 entries for the 1200-metre Group 2 but may instead be directed to easier company after finishing sixth on a Heavy 10 in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m).

Trainer Adrian Bott said confidence is key.
“She may also be nominated for a midweek race to get a bit of confidence back off the back of that,” he said.

Bott believes the heavy track was the main factor in her defeat, her first after wins at Warwick Farm and Randwick in May.

Agarwood is Tulloch Lodge’s second nomination alongside Woodlands Stakes winner Stardom, who impressed with a recent trial win.

Meanwhile, stablemates Vauban and Sir Delius are on track to resume in the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes (1600m).
