FINE DANE showed his true ability last start when giving Blue Diamond winner Written By a fright at Caulfield. He has to carry three kilos more here but a repeat effort will have him very hard to hold out.

RACE 3                        NO.8                MADAM STOWELL

I wanted to take on MADAM STOWELL on as she has raced sixteen times for no wins but this race looks hers for the taking. The depth looks very thin and from an ideal gate she should get a nice economical run and if she is fair dinkum she should be getting the chocolates here and she is my best bet of the afternoon.

RACE 4                        NO.8                SUBRAISE

When Amphitrite won the Edward manifold last Saturday in dominant fashion I said to myself ‘self’ SUBRAISE will be hard to beat next Wednesday in a moderate race. Last start he 3was beaten under two lengths by Amphitrite coming off a three week break. John Allen to rider for Darren Weir only gives me double the confidence.
