Race 1

9 – 1 – 5 – 6

Very keen we can get off to a flyer at Rosehill with the Snowden trained filly GALINA who is yet to win after three career starts but is destined for better races. She ran well in the Gimcrack before a good break and both runs this time around have been outstanding. First up got a mile back and after getting to the front the workload told then last start she just didn’t see enough daylight and would have won if she had. The big Rosehill track will suit her and with a nice light weight I expect her to round them up. Irish Bet resumes off a three month break with two nice trials and a big spruik is coming out of Randwick. Ronstar was good on debut and will give a big sight from on-pace while River Bird will enjoy a soft run from a good gate and have last shot at them.

Race 2

2 – 3 – 1 – 5

Waller prepares my top two selections here with GRESHAM the one to beat coming off a dominant win at Canterbury. He was starting to worry me about his winning conviction but last start he went bang and really put his opposition to the sword winning by four lengths running away. Sparky Lad comes through a stronger race and looks well placed but it’s fair to say it’s about time he stood up to be counted. Reflectivity will likely roll forward and take up the running and could easily get away with it while Playard and Organza round out the winning chances.

Race 3

8 – 4 – 5 – 9

Charlayne only just failed to pick up Epidemic last start and even though she goes up 4kg she will appreciate the drop in grade and a repeat run will have her in the major money. On paper there looks enough speed with Easy Eddie coming across while Lipizzan and Star Sensation are expected to settle handy giving all runners their chance. I have ended up selecting BRABINGER is two from two and although is facing a big rise in class here he looks a promising colt who will hold his position and make his own luck. Siam won well first up before running bravely at Scone behind subsequent Saturday winner Savatiano when carrying a big weight from a wide barrier. Curdled, Smartedge and Dawn Dawn round out the contenders in what looks a tricky race.

Race 4

2 – 8 – 1 – 10

HEMMERLE won nicely on debut at Goulburn before winning at Wagga during their carnival but it was his last start here behind Lisdoonvarna and Seaway that has me thinking he will take plenty of beating here. He has drawn nicely in barrier three so he should position up somewhere around midfield and be hard to hold out. Doctor On Ice won impressively on debut at Murwillumbah and coincidentally it was on a slow surface which Rosehill will be near this weekend. Gate one and early speed should make him a leading player. Radiant Choice was awesome winning last start at Tamworth by a big space and must be respected here against this bunch.

Race 5

10 – 1 – 8 – 9

New Tipperary looks the one to beat in this grade after a solid fourth behind Sedanzer and Duca Valentinois in the Scone Cup three weeks ago. He has drawn nicely and should find a spot in the first half of the field and be hard to hold out. Goathland is back after a disaster in the group 3 Chairman’s handicap at Doomben when wide and working plus getting galloped on. He can bounce back without surprising. Etymology was very good last start behind The Getaway when chasing from a long way out with 61kg on his back. The drop in weight and back to 1800m are two big pluses. That all said I am very keen on the bottom one DAGNY who I thought was outstanding last start here a fortnight ago when beaten a half length over 1500m in a race dominated buy those on-pace. The step up in trip and even tempo expected here will mean she will get back but her turn of speed with a light weight will hopefully allow her to run over them.

Race 6

10 – 3 – 1 – 6

This looks a tricky race so I have ended up tipping the horse I believe will get the best run and that is LA CHICA BELLA who has drawn barrier one. She is now third up from a break so she should be ready to fire and I think she only needs to repeat her last start second to I Am Serious and she will be amongst the major spoils here. Princess Posh comes through the same race finishing third behind I Am Serious and that was off a five week break so she is sure to have benefitted from that hit out. Magic Alibi was solid first up when fourth to Epidemic and then had no luck last start in a race dominated by the on-pace runners. The distance is a little query but a soft draw and Shinn board I think she is capable of running a cheeky race at odds.

Race 7

2 – 5 – 1 – 9

With the scratching of Seaway this morning from what looked a two horse race now leaves I AM SERIOUS as a short priced favourite but very very hard to beat. I Am Serious went outstanding a fortnight ago here when nothing went right yet she was still able to circle the field and win with authority. She has drawn poorly again here but I think she only needs a touch of luck and she will get the job done again. I don’t know where James McDonald will have her in the run but whatever happens she looks a class above and should get the job done.

Race 8

7 – 4 – 14 – 12

SPECIAL MISSILE was out-bobbed last start but from a good gate here he can make amends in what looks a hard race on paper but i am confident our tip will be there right at the end. Special Missile likes to lead but with Crafty Cop engaged I think he can right on its hammer and then find the front in the run home and hold the others at bay. A strong run 1400m should suit this tough son of Smart Missile. Mister Sea Wolf who has drawn poorly and will likely get back nearer last than midfield has plenty of quality and if the others overdo it up front he will be charging hard and fast late. New Universe is not easy to catch but from a soft draw he could easily upset the apple cart while Craft Cop is expected to run along hard and fast and if he can run the 1400m out strongly he is a player.

Race 9

9 – 4 – 5 – 2

DIFFICULT TO GET  is first up having won one and been placed three times from five fresh runs and from gate one she looks to get the perfect run probably tagging Nictock and Highly Geared. The mare has raced here twice winning and running a close second. Nictock turns up here off two very smart barrier trials and from barrier two is sure to find the fence first and give the others something to chase. Ozark did a good job first up to run down the stablemate Malahat with a big weight and with a 38 day break he has been kept up to the mark with a nice relaxed barrier trial. He will be the one coming hard late.
