 ROSEHILL

Race 1             No.2    Calculated  $2.60 with BlueBet

When CALCULATED won first up at Canterbury albeit at a midweek Canterbury meeting Hugh Bowman said on dismounting this horse has a huge future and something along the line, he won’t be at the Cox Plate this year but it wouldn’t surprise if he’s there in the future.

The margin wasn’t big but he got the job done and he will be better for the experience and he will have to be. He steps to 1400m and gets barrier one but the biggest bonus for me is he races on his home track. I doubt Bowman will hustle him early but I do think he can charge over them in the run home.

 CAULFIELD

Race 9             No.8    Schism $3.30 with BlueBet

SCHISM is looking for three wins on the trot and I think only bad luck will stop her here. She was able to handle the class rise last start and the form she is in I don’t think taking on better opposition will stop her. From a good gate she will again position up near the speed then use her acceleration to gain the winning advantage. Matthew Williams from Warrnambool looks after Ciaron Maher’s horses whilst freshening up at the beach and he reported this week she was jumping out of her skin. That’s good enough me to jump back in.

Race 1             No.2    Tumbler $2.25 with BlueBet

In a race where the top two standout I think the 2 TUMBLER is the best of the day and will get us punters off to a flyer. This 5yo mare returns off an 11 week freshen up and a very smart trial here on the Sunshine Coast. She has won six of her eight starts and I believe is far better suited at the flying 1000m than her main danger. From a good gate her jockey Brad Pengelly should have no trouble finding a spot stalking the leading couple.

Good luck
