Brideoake laughs off wide draw for Vinrock in Caulfield Guineas

Kate Brideoake says her marriage to trainer Matt Laurie is “safe for now” despite Vinrock drawing barrier 14 for Saturday’s Caulfield Guineas.

Representing the Mornington stable at Tuesday’s draw, Brideoake was tasked with landing barriers between two and eight for their three runners.
She did just that for Prestige Ole (4) and Vega For Luck (7) before Vinrock’s wide draw tested her luck.

“Prestige Ole and Vega For Luck were good, but Vinrock’s a little wide, but it’s better than barrier one,” she said.

Vinrock, who won over 1400m at Flemington last month, finished fifth in the Stutt Stakes (1600m) after a troubled run.
“He got a bit of a bump on the corner, but he trotted out well and it’s all systems go,” Brideoake said.

The $7 chance sits behind Chris Waller’s Wodeton ($4) and Autumn Boy ($4.40) in betting, while stablemates Vega For Luck ($34) and Prestige Ole ($101) round out Laurie’s trio.
