Race 1

10 – 8 – 6 – 7

SWEET AVA is the full sister to Menari and has shown she has her fair share of ability winning two recent barrier trials. She should bounce and be on-pace and if she does things right be hard to beat here on debut. The obvious danger and I believe only danger is Membrillo from the powerful Godolphin stable who has looked handy in her two barrier trials. She has drawn perfect and should stalk the speed.

Race 2

4 – 5 – 1 – 3

Tricky little race and wouldn’t knock anyone’s pick but I’ve settled on SEAWAY from the Waller stable with Tye Angland on board. She broke her maiden last start when things didn’t break her way and she looked beaten but found something late and put her head out. Savacool and Destiny’s Own finished one two here a fortnight ago and looks major players again tonight.

Race 3

3 – 5 – 7 – 1

DINNIGAN looks the one to beat here coming off a blistering trial win at Randwick a fortnight ago. This girl burst on the scene twelve months ago when third in the Wyong Magic Millions behind Madeenaty. She resumed in late October when favourite but pulled failed and pulled up lame. She will take plenty of running down. Toryjoy has trialled well leading into her debut and Ombudsman caught the line last week at the trials.

Race 4

1 – 5 – 2 – 3

DIFFICULT TO GET and Geneteau both come through the same race at Wyong when beaten by fanning and loom as major players here. Difficult To Get has drawn perfect and should lob in the perfect position behind the leaders which are likely to be Duchess Pedrille and From Within. Geneteau is full of ability but can be a problem child at the gates which then makes it hard. I think that the form line to follow here. Blowing Kisses is now cherry ripe with three runs back and must be given some thought while From Within is an interesting runner having her first run for Edward O’Rourke formally with Chris Waller.

Race 5

11 – 3 – 6 – 2

TRADTRI looks the value runner of the night around the $21 mark for me especially knowing he loves the track and journey having won twice and finished in the placings six times at the course and distance. She returned off a three month break with a cracking run over 1300m before a gallant third here at the 1900m and that was off a four week break in between. He is a 10yo but looks great and with 51.5kg on his back he will give plenty of cheek here. Cordero is a player but around the $2.3 its poison odds even allowing for the fact he is dropping back sharply in grade albeit he is going up 5.5kg. Blanco Cara, Lord Macau and Moqueen round out the winning hopes to my eye.

Race 6

7 – 4 – 9 – 8

BRAVE SONG looks the standout of the night for me as he faces a few older horses that have been where they are going while he is just starting to climb the ladder of success. His race form is rock solid and his two trials back this time around have been spot on. Magicaz has turned in three solid runs this preparation while Dixie Chick is slowly showing glimpses of her old form and La Chica Bella is capable of rolling forward and giving a good sight in a race lacking speed on paper.

Race 7

6 – 1 – 5 – 11

Hunter Jack is the class runner and drops in grade here of a good effort when second to Sedanzer a fortnight ago but will need luck from an awkward barrier. CARLUCA on the other hand has drawn perfect in gate two and will lob straight into an ideal position on the back of the leaders. He gets the quick back up following a good effort last Saturday behind King Darci.

Race 8

4 – 5 – 6 – 12

FANNING was terrific at Wyong last start albeit a city meeting held on behalf of the ATC and a repeat of that run would have him right around the mark here. He has early speed to take up a nice position and the extra 100m won’t pose any issues with him. Niccobelle went outstanding in winning at Scone after seemingly going keenly in front but found plenty to cruise to the line with a safe margin. He will likely look to do similar here and looms as a major winning chance. Viceroy will need a little bit of luck early from the wide gate but if he gets it he is a player. Professor Marx rocks up here with good solid country form and with no weight from a good gate can figure without surprising.
