Corey Brown has had a 12-day suspension for failing to ride a horse out to the line converted to a $5000 fine on appeal.

Stewards outed Brown at Warwick Farm last Saturday week for his ride on La Chica Bella who was nosed out of second place.

The Racing NSW Appeal Panel on Tuesday confirmed the stewards’ charge but upheld the jockey’s appeal on the penalty.

Brown will ride the Joe Pride-trained La Chica Bella in a 1600m-race at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Fellow rider Matthew Cahill had his penalty for a similar charge reduced from 14 days to nine and will begin his ban after Wednesday’s racing.

His mount Waitaha Prophecy missed second place in a race at Wagga on July 9 by a short half head.
