RACE 2 NO.4 RANIER
RANIER comes back down here having no raced in Melbourne since running second in the Maribyrnong Plate on debut. His three runs in Sydney this campaign have all been solid but luck has just eluded her in the run or whether it is the way the track was playing. Last start she had to carry a big weight and giveaway a big start when second to Nakeeta Jane who then came out at her next start and ran third in the group one Flight Stakes. She should stalk the speed here and be hard to hold out.
RACE 7 NO.1 AVILIUS
Since AVILIUS arrived on our shores he has shown he is well above average and is destined for some good quality race wins. He kicked started in Australia at Randwick in early August and was impressive coming from the back to win in good order at the mile. he then stepped to 1900m and then 2000m and was even more impressive in winning both races. His ability to have a brilliant turn of speed at the end of his races will always stand him in good stead. The stable by-passed the group 1 Metrop for this to help secure a Melbourne Cup start and with even luck from gate one he will be hard to hold out.
