Fully Lit reignited his career with a dominant display in the Precise Air Handicap (1400m) at Rosehill, storming home by 5-1/4 lengths.
The 2024 Inglis Millennium winner had struggled across five runs this campaign, and trainer Adrian Bott admitted Saturday was intended to be his swansong.
“I came here today thinking that may just be the end of the prep,” Bott said. “Maybe we’ve got to look at something if he’s only just starting to hit his straps now.”
Bott said the gelding had been slow to recapture his two-year-old form but believed the penny had dropped. Gear changes, including the removal of blinkers, have helped him settle better over longer trips.
Ridden by Adam Hyeronimus, Fully Lit ($12) thrashed Anythink Goes ($14), with Puntin ($6) in third.
Bott ruled out grand ambitions but confirmed the gelding would be kept in work to chase more confidence-boosting wins.
