Race 1
Looks a tricky little event to start the day on the coast for the punters. Initialize is rock hard fit and gets back onto a good track and if he can cross them he will be hard to get past. Postmaster General is having his first start since coming north and on his best he could jump and run and get the money. Linlithgow is first up for 14 months from a very good yard so keep an eye on the betting as she is a capable mare.

Race 2
Notonya Nelly has been given an eight week let up and returns here with blinkers for the first time so the drop back to 1200m shouldn’t pose too many concerns. The race doesn’t excite me and I have been left with Notonya Nelly by default a little so hopefully she can jump and be handy and give a kick. Epic Piper can be forgiven for the last start when wide and working plus it was on an unsuitable wet track. She can bounce back here and give some cheek. Lady Bing is the query runner first up for six months without an official trial.

Race 3
Ruler backs up quickly having run in the big maiden at Grafton on its cup day last Thursday where he found himself in an awkward spot. The smaller field here should help as will the claim for Clayton Gallagher. Fish On has been close on a two occasions to breaking his maiden and from barrier one today and back in trip he gets another chance. Saturn Ops is the one that will be strong late with a nice economical run.

Race 4
Gone right down the bottom here with Too Hot To Hold who has only raced twice and looked a nice filly and she returns here following a five month spell. Her trial was solid and she just needs to have improved from her maiden when she ran second here and she will be in the placings. Arriba was narrowly beaten last start by the highly touted Red Chase albeit over 1110m so the drop back to 900m is a little worry but he has early speed and a bit of class. Ramtastic and Casual Witness look next best on getting the money.

Race 5
Liberty Island has struck nothing but wet tracks this preparation yet he has raced well and I believe as long as they haven’t taken the wind out of his sails getting back on a good surface this afternoon he will take some holding out. He has drawn nice and soft and with the claim for Guthmann-Chester he will only carry 3kg over the limit so he looks well placed. Bronzed Venom should be ready to fire on all cylinders following four runs this preparation and the step up in distance now looks ideal.

Every Single One is first up for 10 weeks and as long as he looks fitter enough he is the one to beat having drawn a perfect marble meaning he should settle reasonably handy and with his preferred dry track he will run well. Iowa is not easy to catch but Chris Waller runners deserve respect in this class of race while daring Deeds drops back in trip and gets back on a good track which is sure to see him improve sharply.

Race 7
On The Spot gets gate one and following two runs back from a six month spell he should be rock hard fit and be there when the whips are cracking. Divine Dice is a Melbourne visitor from a stable that knows how to travel horses so keep an eye on the betting. Blinkers have been put back on so I am tipping he is well fancied. Exceedingly can bounce back after failing on heavy ground last start so don’t dismiss while Amenzel only needs to repeat his effort here three weeks ago behind Allena and Tivoli Street to be in the placings.
