Promising filly Inkaruna will get the chance to finish her Spring Carnival on a high when she lines up at Caulfield on Saturday.
The Sam and Anthony Freedman-trained three-year-old, runner-up to stablemate Point Barrow in the Group 3 Red Roses Stakes at Flemington, will contest the Group 3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes.
The 1200-metre event, now worth $1 million on CF Orr Stakes Raceday, presents a lucrative target for the daughter of I Am Invincible.
“We kept it in the back of our mind for her and she’s pulled up well,” Freedman said. “She’s had a pretty light preparation so far, so I think we’ll front up and see how she does.”
After placings in the Danehill Stakes and Cap D’Antibes Stakes, Inkaruna faces tough opposition led by Coolmore Stud Stakes runner-up My Gladiola.
Freedman also has Katsumi Orochi among nominations for the Group 2 Sandown Guineas (1600m), saying the colt “is probably just looking for a bit further.”
