GAMBESON debuted in May of last year when a brave second before having 12 months off the scene. He did trial twice in the second half of last year but was sent back to the paddock. His trial a month ago was smart and he returned to the track at Canterbury a fortnight ago and was fair finishing fourth in a handy race. That run is sure to have benefitted him enormously and with gate one today in an easier race and an extra 100m he will take some holding out.

RACE 8                        NO.8    TWILIGHTER

This 3yo filly is still learning her craft but I believe she has plenty of ability and is destined for far better races than today. TWILIGHTER was impressive winning here two runs back and then not much went right at Canterbury behind Joey’s Joy in a race dominated by the on-pace runners. She will relish returning to the big circuit here at Kembla and from gate one she won’t have to get as far back as last start and I think she can record win number two.
