Race 1

1 – 3 – 4 – 2 

TIME OF GLORY debuted nine days ago and was outstanding after settling rearward before chasing every stride to the line to just fail. That was 1300m and with an extra 100m here and that race experience hopefully he can go one better. Foreign Territory led on debut over 100m and was pestered the whole way yet he fought every stride to the line. Today’s distance of 1400m should allow him to lead at an easier tempo and he is sure to give a kick. Schoolmates has been gelded and gets barrier one and really only needs to repeat his debut effort back in February and he will be in the mix. Baanone started big odds but did a good job at Warwick Farm behind the promising Seasons.

 

 

Race 2

1 – 3 – 7 – 2  

WILD SPREAD PANIC had trialled impressively leading into her first up run at Gosford but without the blinkers failed to show any early speed but did a good late working to the line. The blinkers have been added to her gear again and from a good gate she is expected to settle handy perhaps behind her stablemate Superior Choice before charging in the straight. Scratches returns from a three month break with two nice trials over the short course but Waller has added the blinkers to her gear to help concentrate. Settle Then Lift with a light weight and Stage Pass who has been racing well look the other possible chances.

 

 

Race 3

4 – 1 – 9 – 3

DEALMAKER was very good finding the line behind Temeyez at Gosford and I think that is the right form race for this event. Dealmaker will relish a stronger rider and the blinkers going on and from a good gate he should get the perfect run tagging what looks a nice even tempo. Morpheus was very impressive winning last start at Goulburn and looks a leading contender here in what is only a moderate city race. Prior to Goulburn he was solid enough behind Royal Celebration at Warwick Farm. Picaro looks to get control here and I sure to give plenty of cheek while Miss Earth looks as though she is crying out for this trip.

 

 

Race 4

1 – 12 – 5 – 4

CANYONERO has raced three times with all being terrific efforts in tougher grade than today’s race and with the blinkers going on and a nice three week freshen up since his first up run behind Ronstar he should be ready to fire. The speed looks solid on paper which should suit Canyonero especially with him dropping back a 100m in distance. Royal Witness created a huge impression prior to racing but at his two career starts he failed to live up to the hype. He has since been gelded and resumes here off a nice barrier trial. Kashiwa has only had the one trial which is unusual for a Chris Waller 2yo so keep an eye on him and It’s Too Hard trialled well and gets the blinkers.

 

 

Race 5

2 – 6 – 1 – 9

Revolver is rock hard fit and from barrier one and already being a winner on a heavy surface makes him the one to beat. He is no star but he is consistent and should be in this for a long way. I am going to put RENEGED on top for the simple reason he is a mudlark and with two runs under his belt this preparation he should be just about ready to fire. All his wins have come at a similar journey and if he can just get a nice run behind the speed he will plough through the heavy track. Just Shine is first up for three months but did enough in a recent trial to show he is back in good order. Penske is racing in good heart while Lay Down The Law and Hypernicus both love the heavy ground.

 

 

Race 6

5 – 3 – 6 – 10 

MEDOVINA looks a progressive filly from the Godolphin yard and would only need to run up to her recent form to prove hard to beat albeit the heavy ground is the query as she hasn’t yet been on anything other than good surfaces. The step up to 1400m looks ideal following her last start over 1200m when she kept finding the line. High Mist was never in the hunt first up when slowly away but the run was still okay even allowing for the fact he finished near the back. The extra furlong here will help so will the heavy track which he has shown he can handle so don’t dismiss lightly. Dawn Raid and O’Lordy look the value runners here capable of running cheeky races.

 

 

Race 7

1 – 7 – 11 – 8

EASY EDDIE has been ultra consistent and is sure to take some running down here if he can find the front which with the blinkers added to his gear I believe he will. The heavy track is a query but being by a Kiwi sire whose progeny have shown they handle it I am prepared to put him on top. His biggest threat looks to be Wander who is low flying for Godolphin coming off a dominant win at Hawkesbury beating his stablemate Florid. From a good gate he should stalk Easy Eddie and being by Lonhro the heavy track shouldn’t be an issue. Cordoned was good winning at Taree off a huge betting drift and Falcon Island has won two trials in readiness for his first up tilt.

 

 

Race 8

9 – 15 – 17 – 10

A little bit of value with VIENNA ROMANCE who was very good first up at Warwick Farm behind Its Time For Magic off the back of only one soft trial. That run will have helped her and being a winner on heavy ground already will have her amongst the spoils. Alassio won impressively on debut back in June last year before being forced off the scene. She resumed last month and got the money again winning with authority at Wyong. She has trialled six times and raced twice and was yet to face defeat until her latest trial so she has to be respected. Bella Success is first up off the back of a nice winning barrier trial at Rosehill a fortnight ago and with a solid tempo expected she is sure to be hitting the line hard.
