The David Brideoake and Matt Jenkins stable is already planning for the spring following Prestige Snitzel’s first win at Mornington.

Her victory in the Mornington Sires (1200m) on Saturday marked her maiden success, but Brideoake has high expectations for the filly.

Having already placed in the Group 3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1200m) at Flemington last month, she looked strong in Saturday’s race, securing a 2-¼ length victory.

Sent out as the $3.10 favourite under Jamie Mott, Prestige Snitzel defeated Toronado Queen ($4) and Casual Ghai ($6.50) by 2-¼ lengths and 1-½ lengths, respectively.

Brideoake believes the filly will handle longer distances in the spring. “I think she will be a filly that will stay, and could get out to a mile in the spring,” he said.

The victory marks the third ‘Prestige’ two-year-old to win for the stable recently, with Brideoake praising the ride by Mott.

Mott, who described the filly as still having a “baby brain,” believes she has the potential to handle more ground. “She gives you a great feel and hopefully she can stretch out in distance,” he said.
