Raging Force powers into spring calculations after dominant Rosehill win

Jockey Tommy Berry believes Raging Force deserves a shot at the Golden Rose following another impressive win at Rosehill.

The two-year-old notched his third consecutive victory in the Thank You ATC Members Handicap (1100m), showing versatility by settling off the pace before powering home.

Berry, who’s twice won the Golden Rose, was impressed by the colt’s maturity and said, “Every time in the winter you find one or two nice colts and fillies that have just taken a little time to mature and he was one of them.”

He added, “He is up and running and heading towards the Rosebud, Run To The Rose and Golden Rose… He is already fit and he might just be able to catch them napping.”

After being injured in the Breeders’ Plate (1000m) last October, Raging Force has bounced back strongly.

Trainer Peter Snowden plans to freshen him before raising the bar.

Stable rep Aaron Lau said, “He is very progressive and it’s exciting going forward.”

The $150,000 Darby Racing colt scored by 2-1/4 lengths as a $1.70 favourite.
