Wild Belle fresh and ready to fire in Beaufine Stakes return

Trainer Luke Fernie believes Wild Belle is primed for a bold return in Saturday’s Listed Beaufine Stakes (1000m) at Pinjarra.

While her recent form has been underwhelming, Fernie is upbeat following an extended prep and positive signs behind the scenes.

“She wouldn’t be going to the races if she wasn’t where she needed to be,” Fernie told Tabradio.

Wild Belle impressed early last year with wins in the Miss Andretti Stakes (1200m) and Rock Magic Stakes (1000m), but struggled in subsequent starts, including the Quokka (1200m) and two Group 3 races in Melbourne.

Despite going eight months between runs and not trialling, Fernie is confident fitness won’t be an issue.

“She’s done nearly 16 weeks in work,” he said.

Chris Parnham takes the ride from gate three. Wild Belle is a three-time winner fresh.

Favourite Repossession has firmed to $2.30, while Toropa ($4.80) and Final Siren ($7.50) are also attracting support.
