Roll On High eyes drought-breaking stakes win in Summoned Stakes

Lindsay Park will look to strike late in the spring with Roll On High, who lines up in Saturday’s $200,000 Group 3 Summoned Stakes at Caulfield.

The five-year-old is chasing her first victory since the Group 3 Fred Best Classic (1400m) last year, backing up 11 days after a strong second in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes.

“We were originally not going to head to this race, but we looked at the noms and thought it was very suitable,” co-trainer Ben Hayes said.

“She’s come through the last run excellent… and I think this is a good opportunity to get another Stakes win.”

Roll On High, who draws barrier eight of 10, has rarely raced beyond 1400m, but Hayes is keen to test her over the mile.

“It’s a big question mark, but… the way she hit the line the other day, you’d suggest a mile would be no problems.”

The Shamus Award mare is out of All Highs On Me, a three-quarter-sister to Victoria Derby winner Monaco Consul.
