Race 4             No.1    THE AUTUMN SUN

Race 1

2 – 1 – 8 – 4

PANDEMONIUM was good first up and with improvement should be amongst the3 chances here. She will roll forward and although no wet form she is by Sebring whose progeny mostly enjoy the wet. Mandylion is another who will race on-pace and does have solid wet form and she is tough. Eugene’s Pick and Impulsive will both stalk those two and give a big sight.

Race 2

12 – 7 – 4 – 11

Really found it hard to decide between HIGHWAY SIXTYSIX who was outstanding first up when blowing the start. If she begins and offsets the wide gate she will be hard to toss while Handle The Truth resumed in awesome fashion albeit in weaker grade but he does look a handy one capable of stepping up. My Blue Jeans loves the sting out of the track and looks to get a nice run.

Race 3

5 – 1 – 12 – 9

Don’t Give A Damn was outstanding winning here last start when defeating trekking and Renewal when he carried 55.5kg but today he will need to lump 64kg but even so he will be hard to beat. I’ve switched just and only just to RENEWAL who ran third and meets him 3kg better and from a good gate will get every chance.

Race 4

1 – 5 – 10 – 6

THE AUTUMN SUN is all class and even allowing for the fact he is first up over 1500m on a rain-affected track his class will take him a long way. He has done plenty of work for today’s assignment and it’d be a surprise if he gets beat. At even money it looks value. Master Ash is low flying and will try and pinch a break on the fav and if there is an upset he looks the one.

Race 5

2 – 8 – 1 – 4

Small field but a cracking race and on paper there looks four genuine winning chances and I’m going for the longest price of the four with HOME OF THE BRAVE. At his first Aussie run he was gallant behind Voodoo Lad at Flemington and if he can relax on-pace here he will take some beating. Siege Of Quebec was tough first up when working throughout the run yet kept finding the line and the small field suits. Trapeze Artist is obvious quality and will run well while D’Argento will be finding the line powerfully.

Race 6

1 – 3 – 4 – 7

ZOUSAIN and GRAFF in my eyes have a class edge over these and although their mission is the Golden Rose in a few weeks I think their class will prevail this afternoon. Zousain is first up but has looked super in the trials and exhibition hit-outs while Graff was a powerhouse first and will just need the luck from the wide gate.

Race 7

6 – 1 – 5 – 2

Daysee Doom is all class and handles wet tracks and looked to cruise in her recent barrier trial in readiness for today. If she gets the luck from the awkward gate she will be in the mix. CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES is three from four fresh and looks ready to go with two searching barrier trials and does get barrier one so she should stalk and be ready. Raiment races well first up and loves wet ground so she deserves her place as a major player here.

Race 8

11 – 3 – 4 – 5

SOOTHING was ultra impressive first up which was five weeks ago and it’s a simple equation in that if she repeats that effort she will be getting the chocolates here. James Cummings has given her a trial to keep her up to the mark. Tango Rain looks value to me here as he will lead and if he relaxes while rolling along he will give a big sight. She Knows carried a huge weight last start and sat wide throughout yet still managed to run second and she can figure here without surprising.

Race 9

9 – 13 – 1 – 7

Open race to finish the day with plenty of chances with leading trainer Chris Waller holding a good hand. OPPOSITION was very good first up and will appreciate the extra 300m while his stablemates are all chances. Eagle Bay looks just about ready to fire third up and on wet ground, High Mist  is racing well and loves wet surfaces, Estikhraaj is racing in solid form and Zourkhan gets through the soft surfaces and comes off a nice little freshen up. Passage Of Time is the one who looks to get a perfect run and should appreciate the step up 200m in journey and the wet track won’t pose any issues.
