Tricky day at Ipswich on a bog track, with a number of race distances being shortened due to the track condition. Add in the rail placement and it makes for a difficult puzzle to solve.

11 PRINCLEY SUM was unlucky here last start, when he chopped out for a run at the 150m, when running into the money. He has placed on s SOFT6 previously in good time, and hoping that points to him handling the HEAVY 10.

1 HANG has a lot of weight to carry on the Heavy track, the claim for Emma Ljung helps, and I think he is in with a great chance. He has been excellent this prep, and last time on a HEAVY he finished 4.5L behind Group 1 winner Capital Gain. It looks the right form line here. 2 MIHANI also has soft track form behind Capital Gain, and is the dangers. 3 NATURAL FORCE won well last time in these conditions and is a chance.

6 LADY EIGHTY EIGHT made good ground from the back on the Heavy at Doomben last start. The smaller field here suits and is a good chance. 4 LOCUS should jump on the speed here and is the main danger. He worked home ok first up, and has raced well on a soft track previously.

I’m happy to have a bet at the big price, about 8 SOZZLED. She is a ½ to OUR BEEBEE who has won 3 from 4 on rain-affected ground, so hoping she gets through it also. She gets he Blinkers and noseband on first time, which should sharpen her up. 2 BAT A KAT looks hardest to beat.

4 IVE GOTTA NEL will be fitter here after his first up run last time, when led and was run down late, on a heavy 9 at Doomben. He can lead here, and with that run under his belt is hardest to beat. 13 LWAZI enjoys these conditions, will get back and run on late, and isn’t the worse $19 shot

I think the 2 on speed runners, 10 PERFORATION and 1 LORD MARMADUKE will fight this out. 1 LORD MARMADUKE is racing well, and is in well with the claim here. He is rock hard fit, and 1 from 1 on the Heavy surface. He can sit outside the leader, and be too strong late. 10 PERFORATION I think holds the lead, and comes here second up off a good first up run. He tired late when chasing Royal Hootenanny on a heavy track at the Sunshine Coast first up, strips fitter here and is a leading chance.

4 HOT TALK was impressive winning first up at Toowoomba last time. He travelled strongly and let down well when into the clear, will travel mid field here and be finishing hard late. 1 O’SPACEHELLO enjoys a wet track, and at big odds can run a race. 11 WINTER BRIDE has ran second on the heavy, and will be on speed and hard to get past.

Short priced favorite here in 1 AMANAAT who has been impressive since joining Ben Currie. He is up in grade and up in weight, and while looks the leading hope, he is short enough. 6 EMINENT looks hardest to beat on the strength of his Group form, during the Brisbane winter carnival. The market will tell if he is ready to win first up, the money will come if he is ready. 2 GO THE GANTRY & 5 NAKANI enjoy the wet and are racing well, both go into multiple.

Tough race to finish the day, it looks a field job for the Quad players, with only 11 winning on a heavy track previously. 9 CELLYSE form reads well on paper for this race. 2 starts back she ran second to subsequent Doomben winner Falkirk Drive, and last start beat Pressway, who come out and won last start. She has placed on a heavy track previously, and is a good Each Way chance in an open race.
