Champagne Stakes Free Tips, Bets and Field Preview – 2021

The Champagne Stakes is the final leg of the two-year-old Triple Crown and an exciting field of juveniles will chase Group 1 success at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

With dominant Inglis Sires’ winner Anamoe instead enjoying a spell, Champagne Stakes betting is a far more open affair and there is a case to be made for nearly every runner.

You can find my 2021 Champagne Stakes tips below.

Champagne Stakes – Winner

No. 2 Hilal – Bet Now: $3.40

Hilal was quietly clearly the best of the rest in the Inglis Sires’ and he can record a well-deserved Group 1 win in the Champagne Stakes.

The Team Hawkes-trained colt has finished worse than second just once in four career starts to date, breaking his maiden on debut and clearly finding form around some of his age group’s best.

Tommy Berry jumps into the saddle and the horse is drawn to receive the run of the race from barrier 4.

Champagne Stakes – 2nd

No. 1 Captivant – Bet Now: $4.00

Captivant filled the minors in the Inglis Sires’ and looks to be in peak condition for his run in the Champagne Stakes.

The Capitalist colt is yet to return a poor effort in five career starts and finished an impressive fifth in the Golden Slipper before his competitive effort over the 1400m here a fortnight ago.

Getting out to a mile looks as though it will suit and James McDonald has options this weekend from the rails draw.

Champagne Stakes – 3rd

No. 13 Queen Of Wizardry – Bet Now: $11.00

Queen Of Wizardy has stripped fitter for two starts back from a spell and can fight out the finish of the Champagne Stakes.

The daughter of Not A Single Doubt clearly needed the run when she finished thirteenth of fifteen in the Golden Slipper, but she was far more impressive into fifth in the Inglis Sires’ last time.

She returned plenty of quality efforts during her first campaign, highlighted by a fourth placing in the Magic Millions Classic, and she looks up to winning something of this quality.

Champagne Stakes – 4th

No. 4 Daily Bugle – Bet Now: $26.00

I’m going to give Victorian raider Daily Bugle a chance to finish in the Champagne Stakes first four.

Daily Bugle won on debut at Pakenham before finishing second behind Lightsaber in a 1400m race at Sandown.

While he couldn’t match it with his rivals in the Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce, he responded with an impressive win in the Mornington Sires’ and was last seen finishing sixth in the Inglis Sires.

I’m confident that he’ll improve for that run at the Sydney way of going, and he’s another horse that looks as though he’ll eat up a mile.
