Black Penn has raced well without winning during his racing career to date and he finds himself in a very winnable contest at Pakenham tonight.
On exposed form he does have a genuine class edge over the rest of this field and he still has plenty of upside to improve.
He will need a little bit of luck in running from barrier ten, but if he gets that he will be very tough to beat.
Pakenham – Race 5 8:00PM AEST
No. 6 Haveyouzeena – Bet Now: $3.90
Haveyouzeen produced an impressive effort to win at Moe last start and a repeat of that performance would make her very tough to beat.
This race really isn’t that much tougher and the fact that she has Jamie Kah in the saddle is a big advantage.
$5 is over the odds in what is a weak race.
Pakenham – Race 7 9:00PM AEST
No. 1 Fiorente’s Girl – Bet Now: $SP.00
Fiorente’s Girl first-up effort at Ladbrokes Park Sandown was better than it looks on paper and this is a genuine drop in class.
The step-up to 1400 metres is ideal and she will make her own luck right on the speed with the in-form Damian Lane in the saddle.
This is an excellent chance to return to winning form.
Pakenham – Race 8 9:30PM AEST
No. 11 Elidi – Bet Now: $3.00
Elidi is a lightly-raced galloper that I have a big opinion of and it is no surprise that he has been well-backed in early betting.
She chased home Fighting Harada at Pakenham last start and he has since come out and won at Ladbrokes Park Sandown.
There is no horse of that quality in this field and she should have every possible chance from barrier five.
