Race 1

1 – 2 – 3 – 8

MARMARIS looked like the first up run was going to bring him on yet he was gallant when second to the inform Dio D’oro here two weeks ago. He just needs to overcome the awkward gate and he will be hard to beat. Thinkin’ Big was impressive on debut winning at Canterbury and from an ideal gate here he should settle handy and play a major role. Albert’s No Pussy only won at Scone but it was a good win and he looks a handy one. Kashiwa was beaten out of sight last start by Smart Melody but I am pretty sure that would have happened to all of these and from a nice gate here he can figure without surprising.

Race 2

5 – 8 – 4 – 6

HIGHWAY SIXTYSIX only needs to have retained her ability from her first campaign and she looks awfully hard to beat here. Last October she was beaten under two lengths by She Knows before winning easily at wagga then coming back to town and running third beaten under a length. Any luck she probably gets the cash. Roman typhoon gets the weight pull and gate one and looks the main threat coming off four solid efforts this preparation. Nicconita chased hard here two weeks ago and even though drawn the outside gate looks the other winning chance.

Race 3

1 – 2 – 7 – 4

I have ended up here with REVENIRE banking on the drop back to 1100m and a nice solid speed and his soft draw that he can run over them late. I think his effort two start ago here when third behind Brook magic and She Knows will be good enough to get the chocolates. Bombarding is two from two since arriving from New Zealand and you’d imagine he’d be around the mark. Bella Success is the big improver for mine being third up. You Make Me Smile was good winning here last start and no reason he can’t pop up in the mix.

Race 4

6 – 4 – 3 – 1

WIDE SPREAD PANIC drops 8.5kg and goes back up in distance but of course she will face a lot better opposition but for me she looks a handy girl and is good enough to be hard to beat here. She will likely lead and I think will take running down. La Chica Bella gets the quick seven day back up and is likely to stalk the leader and coming back a furlong should also help her. Touch Of Mink will have the last shot at the leaders and from gate one is sure to get a nice economical run.

Race 5

1 – 3 – 7 – 5

Looks a trap race for me although I still think the favourite PLYMOUTH ROAD is the one to beat as he comes here off a dominant win here two weeks ago when leading and proving way too tough. There is more speed here and a few that will be pests so I have little confidence. Only Tiger will run his usual tough honest race and does meet the toppy 2kg better off. Ombudsman is the one with only 53kg that could blow them away but I reckon he needs the track to improve a little bit. Nahuel is a progressive stayer capable of bringing his Newcastle form to town.

Race 6

2 – 5 – 12 – 9

ISLAND MISSILE did a good job first up here a fortnight ago when chasing hard to the line to beaten just on a length over 1200m. The step to 1400m looks ideal and his second up form is usually a peak run so if the luck falls his way from the wide gate he is the one to beat. Popular has turned in three good efforts this campaign that resulted in a well deserved win at Warwick farm three weeks ago. With further improvement she can play a role. Oria ran second to Popular last start and with a 1.5kg turnaround you’d have to think she can run well here.  Seahampton is an improver and with two runs under his belt he should be ready to fire.

Race 7

3 – 8 – 2 – 4

Tricky race but you’d have to say Chris Waller holds the key with six of the ten runners. I have DAGNY on top simply because she is the most brilliant and if she gets the luck she can dash quicker than anyone other runner. The three week break is sure to have freshened her up nicely. Vaucluse Bay won’t know himself with 54.5kg and he would only need to run up to his latest three runs to be right in the mix. Carzoff is first up when he often runs well having finished in the first two on three out of four occasions and from a good gate he will stalk the leaders. The chances don’t finish there as Karavali is coming off a nice win while Veladero may get a soft lead and Chatelard looks to have regained his form. Monasterio and Curragh both look value if the luck falls their way.

Race 8

4 – 6 – 2 – 5

Very keen on REDOUBLE who is third up and gets the quick seven day back up here and jumps to a more suitable 1300m and from a midfield draw he should be able to position up just behind a few leaders and be ready to go bang. Philosophy only needs to repeat her latest run here two weeks ago when second when she was coming off a month’s break. Best Guess was ordinary first up but has the ability bounce back here so watch the betting for a guide.

Race 9

1 – 8 – 3 – 12

SHE KNOWS looks the one to get through off the back of a dominant win here two weeks ago over the same distance and she will only carry a kilo more. The speed looks solid and with clear room she will be charging. Tip Top is first up at a trip I like her at especially off only one soft trial plus she gets her favourite track and conditions. Bandipur is the big query and could easily blow this field away. He started favourite against She Knows last start but never got into the fight. Rebel Miss has had a freshen up and a nice trial in preparation for this.
