Jockey Heavelon Van Der Hoven ended his Sydney stint on a high, notching his first NSW metropolitan win before relocating to Brisbane.
The 32-year-old guided Glorious Moments ($3.80 equal fav) to a dominant 4-1/4 length victory in The Agency Real Estate Handicap (1300m) at Randwick.
“I wish it happened earlier, but I’m very grateful for the opportunity and to the team for giving me the support that they have here,” Van Der Hoven said.
“Hopefully I can stay on him.”
The promising three-year-old, trained by Jim and Greg Lee, made it two wins from two this prep and showed plenty of upside.
“He is still raw and he’s very exciting,” Van Der Hoven added.
The Lee brothers are respected veterans at Randwick, having prepared 1983 Caulfield Cup winner Hayai.
Meanwhile, Oh Diamond Lil ($2.70 fav) scored her third win this prep for David Pfieffer in the Mostyn Cooper Handicap (1600m), defeating Aberlour by two lengths.
Pfieffer has eyes on the Belle Of The Turf Stakes at Gosford in December and a potential Big Dance Wild Card run.
