Chris Waller is banking on his elite female brigade to make a major impact this spring, with several of his top-class mares and fillies back in work.
Leading the charge is stable star Via Sistina, joined by Coolmore Classic winner Lady Shenandoah, unbeaten Autumn Glow, dominant Australian Derby winner Aeliana, and classy performer Fangirl.
“They are all back in work,” Waller confirmed.
The team will be split across states to launch their campaigns, with some targeting the Group 1 Winx Stakes (1400m) on August 23 at Randwick, and others eyeing the Memsie Stakes (1400m) in Melbourne the following week.
Fangirl is likely to aim for the King Charles III Stakes, while Via Sistina could again head toward the Cox Plate.
Waller’s spring assault will also feature three Yulong-owned American imports—Anisette, Moira and Full Count Felicia—all Group 1 winners abroad.
They may resume in the P B Lawrence Stakes (1400m) before their targets are locked in.
