Without Parallel storms into Kosciuszko contention with dominant Rosehill win

Promising sprinter Without Parallel has thrown her hat into the ring for a berth in the $2 million The Kosciuszko with a commanding Highway Handicap win at Rosehill.

Trainer Matt Dunn sent the mare to Sydney to make a statement—and she delivered in style.

Starting a $2.45 betting favourite, Without Parallel cruised past the leaders on the turn before sprinting away to win by 4¾ lengths from Via Vegas ($18), with Cougars ($8) in third.

“I believe we have to start thinking seriously about the race now,” Dunn said.

“Horses can go from Highway races to The Kosciuszko but they need to win like that.”

Now unbeaten in four starts, the mare began her career with two wins in the Northern Rivers before adding victories at Eagle Farm and now Rosehill.

Dunn was uncertain how she’d handle the heavy 10 surface, but was impressed.

“She’s a speed horse that’s nimble and athletic… I hold her in good regard.”

She’s currently $26 in markets for the The Kosciuszko (1200m) at Randwick on October 18.
