RACE 4                        NO.9                NIGHT’S WATCH

A repeat of NIGHT’S WATCH’s first up run three weeks ago when second at Flemington behind Theanswermyfriend I think sees him winning here. I think the three weeks between runs will have enabled Darren Weir to keep him nice and fresh. The obvious concern is that last preparation he got up to 2000m and would he still be able to dash now being second up. I think he can and with a nice good tempo he can round them up.

RACE 7                        NO.3                VEGA MAGIC

At this stage I think VEGA MAGIC is the horse to beat not just today but also in the Everest following his devastating win five weeks ago in the Bletchingly stakes. He is two from two at the 1400m and really only needs to repeat last start and he will get the chocolates again. The concern is the blinkers have come off for today with the winkers being added to his gear.

RACE 8                        NO.12              KEMONO

I am going in head first with the Japanese import for Darren Weir now named KEMONO. My spies tell me he has a stack of speed and he is a brute of a horse and although in Japan he got up to the mile his couple of wins did come over the 1200m. It won’t be easy but if this horse is going to find himself in the top class races you won‎’t this price again and I’m prepared to have a crack and say his class will take him a long way.
